Speaker Bios:
Jonathan Bryce, who has spent his career building the cloud, is Executive Director of the OpenStack Foundation. Previously he was a founder of The Rackspace Cloud. He started his career working as a web developer for Rackspace, and during his tenure, he and co-worker Todd Morey had a vision to build a sophisticated web hosting environment where users and businesses alike could turn to design, develop and deploy their ideal web site – all without being responsible for procuring the technology, installing it or making sure it is built to be always available. This vision became The Rackspace Cloud. Since then he has been a major driver of OpenStack, the open source cloud software initiative.

Peter Nickolov is a co-founder and CTO of Opsani, the company driving autonomous operations for DevOps. He is a proven technology innovator with patents in cloud computing, immutable workloads and hyperconverged infrastructure. Prior to Opsani, he was a Distinguished Engineer and SVP of Engineering in the CA Technologies cloud business unit. He joined CA with their acquisition of early cloud computing provider 3tera where he was co-founder and CTO. Before 3tera, he co-founded and was VP of Software Development for Z-force where he led the development of ground-breaking storage clustering technologies.

Irfan Khan is CTO of Sybase. He oversees all the technology offices in each of Sybase's business units. Together with architects residing within the technology offices, Khan ensures the customers' voice and needs of the market are reflected within the company's innovation and product development. In addition, he oversees Sybase technology evangelism efforts.

Dave Cohen is Chief Architect of the Cloud Infrastructure Group at EMC. He is responsible for the overall architectural design direction for EMC’s Cloud Infrastructure Division. With 2008 revenues of $14.9 billion and approximately 40,000 employees, EMC is the world's leading developer and provider of information infrastructure technology and solutions that enable organizations of all sizes to transform the way they compete and create value from their information.

With a career spanning over 25 years, Cohen joined EMC’s Cloud Infrastructure Group earlier this year. Prior to joining EMC, he worked in the Financial Services industry designing/building on large scale distributed systems. He was most recently a Senior Storage Strategist with Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, where his focus was in the areas of low-latency and utility computing issues.

Ken Gardner, executive chairman for SOASTA, is an industry veteran with more than 30 years in the enterprise software industry. He is a six-time entrepreneur having previously been the founder and CEO of Istante (acquired by Oracle in December 2004); Sagent Technology (IPO in April 1999); ReportSmith (acquired by Borland in March 1994); and ViewPoint Systems (acquired by Knowledgeware in June 1992). His first startup, in 1985, was Tesseract Corporation where he was senior vice president of Technology. From 1978 to 1985, he worked in R&D at Tymshare, Inc.

Rick German is Co-founder, CEO and Chief Technology Officer of Stoneware, Inc. and has been the company's President and CEO since inception. He is one of the key architects of Stoneware’s webOS and is heavily involved in the company's efforts to move Web Desktop Virtualization into the “cloud” computing space. Prior to founding Stoneware in 2000, German was the Vice President of System Engineering for Cornerstone Systems.

Brian Clark is Vice President, Product Management at Objectivity. He has nearly 30 years of software industry experience, and is responsible for managing product development for Objectivity’s distributed, cloud-ready data platform, Objectivity/DB. Before joining Objectivity in 1989, Clark worked at Automation Technology Products, providing leading tools in the MCAD market. Before that, he was with Project Management Services at International Computers Limited, one of Europe's leading computer companies at the time. He holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Sheffield University, England.
